With the patented technology of Hydraway Drain, it's no wonder why perforated pipe, filter fabrics, and traditional french drain systems can't compete with the proven success of Hydraway.

The superior product line of the Hydraway Drainage System creates the most effective and state-of-the-art waterproofing and soil water management system available on the market today. Hydraway Drain removes water from soils and relieves the Hydrostatic pressure against subsurface structures. Water from the saturated soil passes through a filter fabric, enters the core, and is conveyed to an outlet pipe. Hydraway is an engineered alternative to conventional pipe and rock systems.

Hydraway Drainage has been manufactured for over 30 years. It was originally invented for highway edge drains and has since been installed in a variety of applications, including athletic fields worldwide and tens of thousands of homes each year. Hydraway Drain is American made near St. Louis, MO.

What is Hydraway?

Hydraway is a geocomposite drain consisting of a high strength polyethylene core thermally bonded to a needle punched, non-woven geotextile filter fabric. The polyethylene core does not become brittle in cold weather and has excellent resistance to chemicals. It can be used in almost any application, even where corrosive materials are present. Because geotextile filter fabric is thermally bonded to the core (unlike many products that use adhesives), Hydraway will not support fungus growth.

Its unique design including a large amount of available open space and non-woven, needle punched fabric allows for the highest in-flow ratings on the market. The capable flow is over 75% of its surface. No glue is used during the manufacturing process, instead molten plastic is utilized.

Hydraway System Advantages

  • Polypropylene filter fabric provides a superior clog-resistant filtering system
  • Will not support fungus growth
  • An engineered alternative to conventional pipe and rock and drain-tile systems
  • Provides over 70% more open area allowing for a much higher water entry rate when compared to typical pipe and rock systems
  • Fusion bonding keeps the fabric firmly attached in high heat and humidity
  • Heavy-duty construction allows for installation in depths of 50 feet

Hydraway Features

  • HDPE Core – with compressive strengths of 11,400 PSF, equates to strength and no memory
  • 4.5 geotextile filter fabric allows for high in-flow rates, non clogging, and high bond strength
  • 21 gallons per linear foot per minute flow at a .10 gradient – ASTM 4716
  • 150 foot rolls are the standard, but with up to 550 feet on request
  • Capable of manufacturing over 25,000 feet per 8 hour shift
