Case Study
If you drain it, they will play
A new baseball field was being built on the site where Field of Dreams was filmed and Hydraway was brought in to design the drainage system. This was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our team, and we were ready to not only meet the high expectations for this facility but also have the field ready for a televised game between the Yankees and the White Sox.
We supplied over 12,000 feet of 12-inch Hydraway with a percolation rate of 18-28 inches per hour (meaning, a rainfall of 3 inches in one hour would be channeled adequately off the field with no rain delay). The night before the game, the field received a 2.5-inch rainfall, but the Hydraway drainage system ensured it was ready for mowing the morning of the game. And it was a beautiful game!
